Watch Austin City Limits Music Festival from home

The festival with built-in name recognition cranks back up this weekend. Thanks to the AT&T blue room anyone on earth can feel like they're there. There's sure to be a little something for everybody.

Not only can you watch via the Web cast, you can also listen to XM Radio's coverage of the festival.

Police's final show webcast

Watch the Police's final performance Webcast, rehearsal footage and soundcheck party from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The rehearsal and soundcheck has already been recorded and the final performance Webcast is tonight at 9:45 p.m. BestBuy.com will be streaming three songs from the encore of the capstone performance of the Police's momentus career. The clip will be archived on the Web site as well.

According to Sting's Web site:

In addition to the live Webcast, which includes three of the last four songs in the encore, Best Buy will begin the presale of an exclusive DVD/CD set, "The Police: Certifiable." The set features the band's entire concert from Buenos Aires as well as bonus footage, available in a 2 DVD/2CD standard format or a 1 DVD/2CD Blu-ray format. Also available is a three LP premium vinyl set with an MP3 file key (a one-time free download of entire album).

NPR to offer webcast of Newport music festivals

From the AP:

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Music fans unable to attend the Newport folk and jazz festivals will be able to listen to some of the concerts online.

NPR Music, part of National Public Radio, plans to stream select performances from both festivals. The webcasts also will be archived and available on-demand.

Fun with Imeem

There's a pretty cool site called imeem.com that according to them is "an online community where millions of fans and artists discover new music, videos, and photos, and share their tastes with friends."

The site not only allows you to build playlists like the one below but you can also set up what they call battles. It's two songs and you can pick which you like better.

New Year's Radiohead, STS9 Web casts


Radiohead's Thom Yorke

Radiohead are to broadcast a performance of their latest album on television and online on New Year's Eve — the same day In Rainbows is released on CD and on vinyl.

Radiohead to release a pre-recorded set to coincide with the release of In Rainbows on vinyl and CD.

The pre-recorded set will go out on the cable and satellite channel Current TV, and online on Current.com and Radiohead.tv.

"This is a wee celebration of the release of the physical manifestation of In Rainbows," lead singer Thom Yorke wrote on the band's Web site.

New Widespread Panic song streaming; new album info

New-esque might be the better term. "Flicker" has
been played live before. It's the second song to be
released for streaming that is on the "Free Somehow"
album that is rumored to hit stores in late January 2008.
